Rejecting The Alpha Twins (Regan)

Third Person POV

"Stupid girl" she hissed, unable to hold back her anger anymore her eyes blazing as Isabelle cowered back from her. "You just had to ruin it. Why did you take Regan from the dungeon? Why did you inform Xander Dominion that the baby you are carrying is his? That was all to be kept secret, for when we most needed it" Heather scowled, while Isabelle hung her head, unable to find an answer that would placate her mother or quench her fury.

She knew she had done wrong, but Isabelle couldn't help it. She liked to torture Regan and the look on Xander's face when he discovered she had been pregnant with his child...she tried to stop the smile of glee appearing on her face. It had all been worth it as far as she was concerned. She would never forget the look of dread that Xander had shown or the disbelief. The bastard deserved to be rotting in hell for everything that he had put her through. She thought that if any of the twins were going to remain loyal to her, it would have been Xander. How wrong she was.

"Now we have to go with the backup plan" Heather snarled. "Which I only put in place for a dire emergency" she continued, glaring at her daughter "and which I'm now having to put into action. Do you think I want to be mated to an elderly Alpha?" she said, shaking her head bitterly. "Do you think that this is something to be proud of? You have left me no choice. Mating with this Alpha and being marked by him, will grant us the power of Luna and daughter, which will grant us with the resources of a pack behind us. If this man, had not become overwhelmed with desire for me when visiting the pack, we would be screwed" she snapped "I've kept him on a hook this entire time, writing him letters, promising to visit, assuring him that I needed time to leave Johnathon. It's lucky that I have the ability to foresee what we might need in the future. I always thought keeping this man under my spell would come in handy" she grunted "but I never thought I would need it so

soon."

"But does he still want you?" Isabelle dared to ask, her voice low, "what if he's changed his mind mother?" she whispered, her voice shaking slightly.noveldrama

After all, how long could you keep a man waiting before he finally gave up? What if her mother had kept him waiting too long? He was bound to get impatient eventually. No man would wait forever and yet her mother looked so confident that Isabelle couldn't help but marvel at her.

Isabelle couldn't help but fear what would happen to them if the Alpha had changed his mind. They had nowhere else to go. Her mother turned and stared at her silently for a minute. "Trust me Alpha Kai wants me" she boasted finally, "and if he's changed his mind, I'll do what I have to in order to change it back."

After all, her skills in the bedroom were nothing to scoff at. If seducing the old bastard was all it too, she would do it, even though the very idea of it filled her with revulsion. She was selling her body for the guarantee of becoming Luna and the safety that came with it. Others had done worse for much less, she reminded herself.

Isabelle bit her lip. She and her mother were walking through the nearby territory in human form, to prove they didn't pose a threat. They had escaped by mere seconds from Alpha Jackson's territory and pronounced themselves no longer members of the pack, causing them to become rogues instantly. Not only that, but it also meant that her mother was no longer marked by Alpha Jackson because he remained a member of his pack while she was not. The bond or rather the marking between the two of them had severed and now her mother's neck was unblemished. At least Alpha Kai would never know that her mother had marked another Alpha after leaving Johnathon, for surely that would anger him thought Isabelle to

herself.

"This is our best shot," Heather said, pushing a branch aside and stomping through the debris and fallen leaves. "Alpha Kai's pack is relatively large and if we can convince him to take us in, I can persuade him to take you as his adopted daughter." Isabelle frowned. "What good does that do? I still want my child to have a claim to Xander Dominion's pack. Otherwise getting pregnant was for naught" she protested, her voice thick and indignant.

"Do you want to die? In order to go back and get our revenge, we need to make sure we have resources at our disposal" her mother said, trying to maintain her composure, "being formally adopted will give you claim to become Luna after me and you won't lose your claim on Xander Dominion's pack" she added coyly.

Isabelle's frown cleared up. She gave a sudden giggle, causing her mother to look at her astounded. Didn't she understand how dire the situation was? Had Isabelle lost her mind as they were forced to run for their lives? Was she broken? She eyed her daughter with suspicion

"It must be killing him," Isabelle said slyly, causing her mother to become even further confused.

"Killing him?" she repeated blankly, pausing for a moment "Killing who?" she asked bewildered.

"Xander Dominion," Isabelle said with satisfaction, putting her hand on her stomach with deliberate emphasis. "It must be killing him to know that I'm out here with his baby and there's nothing he can do about it."

Heather smirked. "He'll be losing his mind. It's his own damn fault for being such an arrogant little bastard" she muttered, turning back on her heel "if they had done the right thing and taken you as their Luna like the original plan, we would never have conspired against them or their father. They broke their word" Heather snorted "and then just thought we would accept it because Regan was family and their fated mate. Regan has always been jealous of you" she told her daughter, "And I've had to do everything possible to make sure that she never outshined you. Even going so far as to make sure she was disciplined, repeatedly to drill her lessons into her."

"Regan must be devastated" Isabelle said out loud, just as they pulled up short, several wolves leaping through the trees and beginning to snarl at the women in a warning not to continue.

"Keep that thought" her mother hushed her and held up her hands in surrender. "We pose no threat. We merely want to seek an audience with your Alpha" she said tiredly. appen.

The women had expected this to happen. No Alpha left his territory unpatrolled. Not unless they were stupid.

Only one of the wolves shifted into his human form. Isabelle's eyes widened as she took in how handsome the man was, his package quite spectacular to behold. Her eyes dipped lower and a smile curved on her lips, despite the predicament they were in. The man's eyes gleamed as he looked them over, no doubt seeing nothing but two exhausted women, their clothes ragged, their hair disheveled and matted, their bodies dirty and covered in bruises. It had been a long and rough trip to get here. The man narrowed his eyes and folded his arms across his chest, still looking suspicious.

"What is your business with our Alpha?" he demanded.

Heather licked her lips, knowing that one wrong word, one wrong move would instantly kill the two of them. She shot a warning look at her daughter, knowing that Isabelle would sometimes spurt out something without considering the consequences. She coughed and then lightly cleared her throat, trying to smile at the man who remained tightlipped.

"I am" Heather paused and then lowered her voice "A good friend of Alpha Kai's. He's been expecting me for some time, but it's only now that I have been able to make the journey safely. Believe me, if you tell him that we are here, he will be glad to see us."

"Is that so?" the man's tone was dark, "And who might you happen to be?" he growled.

"Heather and Isabelle Ramona" her tone was calm, belying the churning of her stomach and the fear that was threatening to overwhelm her.

The man's eyes went cloudy and Heather knew he was informing the Alpha of their arrival. Heather and Isabelle waited anxiously and then the man's eyes abruptly cleared.
