The CEO’s little ones

Chapter 15:

When Joseph rushed to the hospital, he saw that an adult woman lay unconscious in the hospital bed, and that her precious son Noah was sprawled on the edge of the bed with his pajamas still intact. He was sound asleep.

Joseph became a little nervous at the sight of such a scene. “Noah.”

Noah responded to a small commotion in the room and, upon seeing Joseph, his expression softened a bit. He held up a drawing he was holding in his hands.

It was a drawing done in red crayon, which was Noah’s favorite. He could not speak and his vocabulary was limited, so, to express his more complicated thoughts, he presented them in the form of a drawing.

The first drawing showed a woman feeding a child, who looked very happy because of the way the corners of her lips were turned up.

In the second drawing, the woman was holding the child’s hand and they seemed to be going somewhere. There were clouds all around them and inside the cloud was a castle that looked like a playground.

In the third picture, a golden chandelier was shattered on the floor and the woman was holding the child tightly with one of her hands tucked under the chandelier. There was a bright red color staining her hand, indicating that she was bleeding.

“Hmm…” Noah pulled Joseph to the side of the bed and pointed to the woman lying on the bed before pointing to the woman drawn in his painting. He was trying to say they were the same person.

Joseph looked hesitantly at the patient lying on the bed. She had a pale face and a grave expression. It was the same woman he had met before.

Did it turn out that it was this woman who had put Noah’s life before her own and had rushed in to save Noah?

When he remembered that he had treated her badly before, his expression became somewhat confused and complicated.

It looked like Noah still had something he wanted to say, but the moment he rested his eyes on Violet, who stood behind Joseph, his face paled immediately as he shrugged out of Joseph’s hand and backed toward the bed.

“Noah, what’s wrong?”

Joseph didn’t notice anything unusual in her gaze. He figured Noah just resented him for not taking him out for some fun, so his voice became considerably softer, “I’m sorry about what happened today. From now on, I will keep all my promises, okay?”.

Noah still wore a very terrified expression and for some reason kept a distance from Joseph.

“Butler.” Joseph couldn’t do anything about it, so he called out to his butler who was at the door, “Take Noah home. It’s too late now, he needs to rest.”

However, Noah just shook his head without getting out of bed.

Joseph couldn’t understand Noah, so he asked him, “Noah, what’s wrong with you?”.

“Let me help you. I think you’ve had too many shocks today.” Violet offered her help by bending down and stroking Noah’s head.

“Noah, will you have dinner with me?”

Noah visibly flinched and his eyes immediately filled with fear. He let go of Violet and hid behind Joseph as he grabbed his pants.

“He must be scared somehow.” Violet didn’t know how to explain her reaction, so she simply let out a sigh, “Joseph, you should let the butler handle the situation in the living room, we should take Noah home together now. It’s very late and the boy needs to rest.”

Joseph took a hesitant look at Hayden, who was still unconscious, and instructed the doctor to make sure he could recover before leaving.

By the time his nanny finally put Noah to sleep, Joseph just came out of his room. He had a solemn expression on his face, as if he was still thinking about what had happened earlier that day.

Violet was still in the living room. She hadn’t left yet.

“How’s Noah, has he gone to sleep yet?”

“Yes.” Joseph nodded and then glanced at the clock. He advised her, “It’s getting late, you should go home now.”

“Don’t worry. My driver is on his way.” Violet glanced around the second floor bedroom and added, “Noah is too young and it’s really not a good idea for him to stay by your side all the time. Look, something bad happened today and it scares the hell out of everyone, you’d better find someone to take care of him. Your grandfather is right about this.”

Joseph looked at her with a face like he was seriously considering her proposal.
