Peter narrowed his eyes, and the cold air around him made Noelle shiver involuntarily.

She gulped nervously, feeling somewhat helpless. "Peter, you still care about Tania, don't you? You've waited for her for three years. Why risk messing up this moment?"

After a ten-hour-long flight, the plane finally landed. As soon as Tania got off, she pulled out her phone and saw a few text messages and missed calls.

She squinted at the screen while dragging her suitcase behind her. She then glanced at the small child beside her. She said, "Brandon, be good. I'm going to call your daddy, so stay still, okay?"

Brandon immediately sat on the suitcase, holding his face in his hands and watching Tania. "Mommy, where are we going next?" he asked.

"First, we'll find somewhere to settle down, and then we'll go see your grandma, grandpa, and uncle, okay?" Tania pinched Brandon's cheek, unable to suppress a smile. Just then, her call went through. "Trevon, did you try calling me?" she asked.

"Tania, where did you go?" Trevon's anxious voice came through the phone. "You—"

"I'm back home," Tania interrupted. "I just landed at Brookville Airport."

"What? Who allowed you to go back?" Trevon's voice became sharp and angry on the other end.

"Trevon, my mother is sick. I had to come back. I'm sorry. Once she recovers, I'll bring Brandon back," Tania said, hanging up the phone.

She hesitated for a moment, then took Brandon's hand and said, "Let's go. We're going home."

As Tania and Brandon stepped out of the arrival gate, a pair of sharp eyes locked onto them. Tania could feel the heat of the gazes that were brimming with intensity.

She straightened her back, and the moment she lifted her head, her eyes widened in shock. Her grip on Brandon's hand tightened, and the astonishment in her eyes was unmistakable.

"Let go of me, Peter! Let go!" Tania glared at him, her expression fierce as she dug her nails into his arm. "Let me go."
