The Tycoon's Deepest Repentance (Sophia and Ryan)

Deepest Repentance 6

Sophia's POV

Ryan burst into my hospital room, clutching an enormous bouquet of roses.

I was still recovering from severe blood loss, my complexion pale and frail.

Kneeling beside my bed, Ryan looked at me with a mix of guilt and desperation.

"Sophia, I'm sorry. I didn't know... I had no idea about any of this," he pleaded. "Please forgive me for not being by your side at such an important moment."

He continued, his voice trembling, "You can hit me, yell at me.

anything. Just forgive me, okay? I'll spend the rest of my life proving how sorry I am."

Ryan held out the bouquet and a sparkling diamond ring, his eyes full of hope.

I didn't even glance at them.

"Let's get a divorce, Ryan," I said calmly.

His face froze, as if struck by lightning. "W-what?"

The sunlight reflected off the large diamond, its brilliance almost painful to my eyes.

I placed the divorce papers on top of the roses.

"Stop pretending, Ryan. You're only embarrassing yourself now."

"I know I've been insensitive," he stammered. "I didn't pay attention to your likes and dislikes. I forgot what foods you avoid.

But I'll change, Sophia. I'll learn, and I'll prove how much I care!"

"Prove it?" I said with a bitter smile. "You've already proven everything, Ryan. You don't love me. You love Linda, your ex-girlfriend."

His face fell as I continued, "Weren't you already planning to send me to a care facility to spend the rest of my life there? And our child? From the start, you thought my body was too weak for a healthy delivery. You didn't believe either of us would make it. So no, Ryan, we can't stay together. Sign the papers. I'll raise our child alone."

My voice was steady but loud enough for everyone around to hear.

Murmurs filled the room as people began to whisper.

Ryan's face turned bright red, and he couldn't think of a response.

He looked at me with bloodshot eyes.

"Sophia, do you really have to be so heartless? Not for my sake, but for our baby's? Please, forgive me. If you give me one more chance, I swear I'll be the perfect partner and father." Just then, my mother returned with our baby after his checkup.

Ryan's eyes lit up as he caught sight of the child, his disbelief giving way to tears.

"He's a boy?" he whispered, approaching slowly. "Oh my God, he looks like an angel.. I've always dreamed of having a son to carry on our legacy."

He turned back to me, voice trembling.noveldrama

"Sophia, I'm begging you. Let's start over. I'll tell Linda to end her pregnancy, or if she insists on having the child, we can raise it ourselves. I'll do whatever you say!"

A cold shiver ran through me.

For the first time, I realized how cruel Ryan truly was.

"You don't deserve something as precious as a child," I said firmly. "You wanted to get rid of me and our baby so we wouldn't ruin your new life. And now you're willing to sacrifice your lover's child for convenience? You're heartless, Ryan." "No! That's not true!" He protested, his voice breaking.

"I have proof of your infidelity," I said, my tone unwavering.

"Videos, recordings.. they all show your true nature. And let's not forget the flood incident, where you left me to fend for myself."

Ryan's confident expression shattered.

Panic filled his eyes as he stammered, "It's not... it's not like that.

You must be mistaken!"

Desperation took over as he grabbed my shoulders and shook me.

"It's a misunderstanding, Sophia! I've changed! Please, just give me one chance. Just one!"

Tears welled up in his eyes, his pride completely broken.

At that moment, the door burst open.

Ethan stormed in, his tall frame casting a shadow over Ryan.

Gently, he wiped away my tears and said, "Forgive him? So he and his mistress can try to kill my sister again?"

Ethan pulled out a folder containing all the evidence we had collected.

Among it was a video of me stranded in the flood, stumbling and crying for help, collapsing in pain as blood pooled around me while I clutched my pregnant belly.

Ryan's face drained of all color as he watched.

Tears streamed down his face, and his voice trembled. "Oh my God.. what have I done?"

I couldn't bear to watch anymore.

I tossed the divorce papers and roses onto the floor.

"I gave you six years, Ryan. Six years to truly see me, to care for me. You never did. And now, when it's too late, you want to act like this? No one is obligated to wait forever for someone to change. Wake up. We're over." Ryan knelt, picking up the fallen petals as if trying to salvage something.

"We can fix this," he muttered, almost to himself. "We can go back to how things were."

Ethan motioned for the guards to escort Ryan out of the room.

After that day, Ryan came to the hospital every day, begging to see me, but Ethan's security team kept him away.

One day, it wasn't Ryan who came but his mother.

She knelt before me, tears streaming down her face as she begged, "Please, Sophia. Just see him once. Only once. Ever since the baby was born, he hasn't been himself. He doesn't eat, doesn't work. He's consumed by thoughts of you and the child."

I felt nothing for Ryan, but I couldn't turn away an innocent elderly woman.

As it happened, I was supposed to go home and pack what I was going to take with me.

Ryan wasn't there when I got home, and as I began to pack my belongings, I realized that the house was filled with bittersweet memories.

Every corner, every decoration had once been a symbol of the life I'd hoped to build with him.

Ryan arrived shortly after, carrying bags of baby items.

He looked thinner, worn out, but his eyes lit up when he saw me.

"Sophia!" he exclaimed, rushing over. "Look at these! I bought everything for the baby, the bottles, clothes, toys. I even decorated the nursery to match your favorite style!"

Linda followed close behind, visibly upset.

When Ryan saw her, he froze, then panicked. He pushed her toward the door.

"Leave! I need to talk to Sophia!"

Linda stumbled, furious.

"Ryan, are you insane? I just came back from a hospital checkup for our baby, and you're treating me like this?"

Ignoring her protests, Ryan tried to show me the baby's room.

"Sophia, I even updated my will. Al my assets will go to our son.

No one else will get a penny!"

Linda screamed from the hallway, pounding on the door.

"Ryan, you're insane! What about me and my baby?"
