"You want my child to call you 'Dad'?" Bernard narrowed his eyes and sneered at Thiago and Nicholas. "What makes you two qualified?"

"Your opinion doesn't matter as long as Hera agrees!" Thiago huffed. "I believe Hera wouldn't mind the baby having a few more fathers."

"Exactly! The decision lies with the child!" Nicholas chimed in.

Bernard was perplexed. He had never seen anyone more shameless than them!

"I don't care what these guys are, but I'm going to be the godmother. And my future baby is going to be engaged to yours," Samantha declared.

"Sweetheart, we don't even know the baby's gender yet. Isn't it a bit early to arrange a marriage?" Shaun said.

"The gender doesn't matter as long as it's an engagement!" Samantha crossed her arms. "Society is much more open now. Same-gender marriages are totally normal."

Bernard groaned to himself. It seemed it would be better if his child didn't get too close to this group if they were a girl. He didn't want them corrupting his child!

After Hera finished discussing the matter with Gino, Lilith took the phone and reminded her to take care of her health.

When she returned, she overheard the group discussing children and was puzzled. "What are you all talking about?"

"We're making future marriage arrangements for our kids!" Samantha explained.

Hera sighed. They weren't even married yet. Wasn't this a bit too far ahead?

"Looks like the Presgraves are making news again. Their latest round of financing seems to be on track," Nathan said, glancing at a news article that had just popped up on his phone.

His comment quickly shifted the conversation, and Hera didn't pay much attention to the details.

After dinner, Nicholas proposed to grab a drink. But Bernard declined when he remembered Hera's condition while Hera, who was a lightweight, wasn't interested either. Hence, they were happy to leave early.

Samantha and the others, thinking Hera might be pregnant and unable to drink, didn't push them and let them head home.

As Hera got out of the car to unlock the gate, Chad approached her. "Hera, may I have a word?" "Haven't you had enough?" Bernard stepped out from the driver's seat and stood protectively before Hera.

Seeing how protective Bernard was of Hera, Chad's face fell. "I'm not here for you today." He turned his gaze to Hera. "I'm here to ask why you decided to resign."

Bernard was surprised and amused that Chad had come for Hera rather than himself. He had clearly given up on convincing Bernard to return to the company after realizing it was futile.

As for Hera's resignation, Bernard had heard of it but hadn't expected Chad to come personally. Judging by the situation, he had been waiting here for a while. It seemed Killian Corporation was really running out of capable personnel.
