Allison remained cool, her expression unruffled as she met Amor’s gaze.
“You want my property but didn’t have the backbone to negotiate in person, so I decided to find you myself.”
Amor raised an eyebrow, amused.
“All I did was send someone to notify you.”noveldrama
She flicked her hand, and several imposing men, who had been lurking in the shadows, stepped forward, each armed with a weapon at his waist.
“Don’t worry; it’s someone else’s place. I’m not looking to break any rules by starting a fight here,” Amor said casually, giving a slight wave.
A man stepped forward and offered a glass of wine to Allison.
“Drink this, and we’ll forget this ever happened. I’ll take the property, and I’ll even throw in ten times the value. No need for you to risk your life over a game.”
Though her smile was sweet, Amor’s eyes gleamed with unmistakable malice.
Allison’s instincts, honed from years of training, told her that if she played along, Amor would betray her at the first opportunity. Without hesitation, Allison took the glass, swirling its contents lazily.
In the next instant, she turned her wrist and splashed the wine onto the man standing before her.
“Oh dear, my hand slipped,” she said with a sly smile, her tone completely devoid of apology.
Their eyes met in charged silence.
Amor’s smile slipped, her gaze darkening.
“So, you really want to gamble with me?”
“That’s right,” Allison replied smoothly.
Amor’s lips twitched, visibly surprised by the defiance.
“The rules are simple: best two out of three.”
Just then, the doors to the chairman’s lounge swung open, and Andres strolled out.
Amor’s eyes lit up as she called out, “Andres, isn’t there a rule in this casino about not wearing masks?”
Andres nodded, his gaze falling on Allison.
“Indeed, we prefer transparency here. Masks are often a favorite of troublemakers.”
With a courteous gesture, Andres added, “So, Miss Scarlet Snake, the mask will have to go.”
The room held its breath, every eye fixed on her, eagerly awaiting her response.
Fay, in particular, looked smug, her lips twisting into a mocking grin.
“Some people are just too ugly to show their faces,” Fay sneered, expecting Allison to back down.
But Allison didn’t give her the satisfaction. With a fluid, almost theatrical motion, she removed the mask, holding her head high.
“There, satisfied?” she said.
